Connect your calendar

Until a calendar is connected, Hotline is offering times on trust — yours. Connecting one lets it check every slot against what you already have on, and put booked meetings where you actually look for them. It reads free/busy and writes the meetings you book; it does not read the contents of your events.

  1. Open the connect screen

From your profile, choose Connect calendars. The screen lists every provider Hotline speaks to: Google, Apple iCloud, and any calendar that publishes an ICS feed — which is how Outlook and Proton connect today.

  2. Pick your provider

Google and iCloud connect directly. For Outlook, Fastmail, Proton and the rest, you will be asked for a feed URL — the guide on that screen walks through where each provider hides it.

  3. Authorize, and don’t share a password

Google sends you to Google to approve; iCloud uses an app-specific password you generate at Apple, not your Apple ID password. Hotline never sees either login.

  4. Check what came back

The calendar appears in the list with its busy blocks attributed to it by name. If you connect several, each block on your week says which calendar it came from — so a mystery Tuesday is one glance to resolve.
